Time keeps on slipping….Tick, tock, tick, Do, do, dodo
Life is terribly short, or as Buffett put it “…maybe sixty good years
It’s still not that long a stay.”
But no matter how many times you hear it, you can’t begin to glimpse the harsh reality of it until you lose someone very close to you, or face it yourself.
And then of course, it’s too late.
Experience lends perspective, and the two combined become wisdom. That’s what books and tutorials offer us. As do mentors, big brothers and sisters, sempai, directors, teachers, friends and colleagues.
This guy, Carnegie Mellon Professor Randy Pausch, who is dying from pancreatic cancer, is sharing his experience with us.
The video has been around a good while, but If you have not already seen it, or perhaps even if you have, it’s worth the time to watch.

Great talk and what a great guy.
Computer Sciences, 3D… videogames! Sometimes I feel a little inner disturbance when thinking its an almost totally trivial, untranscendent activity. Well as always, its just depends on us.
Yup. That is something I think about all the time.
I love making video games, but I love working with my hands more. Even something as simple as digging a ditch can be very gratifying. No bullshit, no politics, just good hard work. And at the end of the day you have probably improved something or some ones life in a meaningful and tangible way.
Yes. I know what you mean, something is still atractive on the shovel, the old f-100 and dirty hands. Something dignifying. Also, traveling, contact with the nature! I love that maybe more than anything (believe me, IdK). One of my sisters is finishing her studies to be park ranger, and is calling to me all the time (knowing me) to follow that path.
Well its a persistent call inside me too, so I made my vote to deliver at least one game, and then see. Hard to have so diferent loves isnt?
Maybe while Im still in game dev I may travel sometime to USA, IGDC maybe, but is yet part of this dream.
And coming back to the video, Ive never payed much attention to Alice, seems to be advancing at big steps.
